Description

The Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with the Senior Business Development Manager to develop concise and actionable business development and marketing plans for the Intellectual Property practice. The BD Manager will make strategic recommendations on business development and marketing strategies to practice group leaders and the Senior Business Development Manager, ensuring an understanding of industry norms, terms, and procedures. Stay up-to-date with developments in the law for intellectual property and relevant industries to identify expanded or new client opportunities. Respond proactively to advance business development initiatives in these areas. 

 

Effectively implement business development and marketing plans, ensuring efficient management, appropriate budgeting, and effective communication. Draft and maintain creative practice group marketing materials, including practice group descriptions, bios, website content, and customized content for pitches and RFPs. Conduct comprehensive competitive intelligence and research using firmwide resources to identify prospective targets, industries, markets, and conflicts. 

 

Actively participate in key industry networks, identifying partnership opportunities to enhance the firm's position in the marketplace. Develop supportive relationships with offices where practice group attorneys are located, ensuring collaborative provision of business development and marketing support.

 

This is a Washington, D.C. based position.

 

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in a related field required. At least five years of relevant experience in professional services marketing; law firm experience preferred. Working knowledge of Intellectual Property and Patent Prosecution desired.
