Description

Summary
The Director of Legal Service Delivery & Innovation supports firmwide legal project management (LPM) and service delivery initiatives designed to improve matter execution, profitability, and client satisfaction. Reporting to the Chief Strategic Pricing Officer, this role emphasizes the development of scalable, technology-enabled LPM solutions that enhance matter planning, monitoring, and delivery while supporting the firm’s broader financial and client relationship objectives.

Key Responsibilities
The Director leads the development and implementation of legal project management frameworks, tools, and best practices that enable lawyers to plan, manage, and deliver matters more efficiently and predictably. This role partners closely with lawyers, client legal operations teams, and business professionals to define and track key performance indicators, assess matter performance, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Responsibilities include evaluating existing LPM capabilities, creating a roadmap to strengthen matter management and reporting, and advising leadership on adoption and change management. The Director also develops self-service and technology-enabled tools that support budgeting, forecasting, and matter tracking, conducts post-matter reviews to assess outcomes and capture lessons learned, and serves as a central resource for internal and client-facing LPM needs, while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate has a minimum of ten years of relevant professional experience, with significant hands-on legal project management experience in a law firm or professional services environment. The candidate brings a strong understanding of matter lifecycle management, client service delivery models, and financial performance drivers, along with demonstrated experience working directly with lawyers and senior leadership. Success in this role requires the ability to influence and build consensus across stakeholder groups, communicate clearly and credibly, manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment, and recommend and implement process improvements. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, ideally in business, operations, finance, or a technology-related field, with an advanced degree considered a plus.
