Description


Our client, an Am Law 50 firm, is looking for an experienced Principal to join their e-discovery and data science teams. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of e-discovery consulting services, with a focus on litigation, internal investigations, regulatory responses, due diligence reviews, and other areas.

 

As a Principal, your primary responsibilities will include directing, supporting, and participating in a team of ediscovery and data science specialists. You will define and execute workflows focused on thoughtful analysis and production of client documents and data. You will also be responsible for team development, mentoring junior team members, and planning for the future.

 

Ideal candidates should have decades of experience delivering e-discovery consulting services across law firms, consulting, and corporate legal. You should also have demonstrable, deep subject matter expertise in litigation readiness/information governance consulting, data preservation and collection from enterprise systems, complex data processing, assessment of discovery orders, advanced application of analytics and TAR, design and management of effective review workflows, and advanced project management processes.

 

The Principal will spend about 50% of their time completing client matter work, including client-billable and non-billable tasks. You will also consult and strategize with case teams, clients, and team members to find efficient and effective ways to meet discovery objectives through appropriate workflow design, matter staffing, vendor engagement, and technology application.

 

The ideal candidate should have exceptional organizational skills, good judgment, and the ability to independently define and progress on action items. You must also demonstrate a commitment to consensus building and an ability to stay aligned with and meet directives set forth by leadership. Strong communication skills are a must, as you will be interacting with people at all levels with high accuracy, professionalism, and accountability.

 

  • The Principal role includes client-billable and non-billable tasks. 
  • 15+ years of delivering consultative ediscovery services.
  • Strong familiarity with core discovery workflows including data preservation and collection standards, ediscovery platforms (Relativity, Reveal), analytics and TAR use cases and ediscovery rules that impact project planning (ESI Orders, Federal Rules of Civil Procedures, data privacy/cross-border requirements).
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. JD or MBA is a plus.
