- Develop trusting relationships with people across all levels of the firm. By being accessible, helpful, and effective you will develop a reputation for getting things done. Following through on what you commit to doing will also help you become a go-to marketer for your team, the partners, and other professionals. And a bonus… you will learn about the various practice areas along the way, making you a valuable resource for years to come.

- Demonstrate your ability to lead projects. Raise your hand to take on new initiatives. Use clear communication, ask questions, create easy-to-use systems, document your pathway, keep your cool under pressure and deliver results consistently.

- Express a leadership mindset. In addition to demonstrating how you run a project from start to finish, find ways to mentor junior team members, highlight the successes of your teammates, solve problems before they reach your supervisor, and turn attorney feedback into actionable tactics.

- Think big while rolling up your sleeves. Build your understanding of how marketing and business development fits into the overall success of the firm and then take charge of the tactical efforts that help the firm achieve goals.

- Build a portfolio of successes. Keep track of your wins, measure positive attorney engagement, and quantify how you save time and money for the firm.
