The Business Development Associate Director will lead and execute the North America Tax Practice Group’s business development strategy to drive client retention, revenue growth, and market positioning. Working closely with the Practice Group Chair, Steering Committee, Partners, and Business Manager, this role develops and implements strategic initiatives aligned with regional objectives.

 

Key responsibilities include identifying and pursuing new business and cross-selling opportunities; supporting partner business development planning; managing proposals, panel appointments, and targeted tenders; and overseeing client relationship initiatives and reviews. The role directs the creation and maintenance of marketing collateral, website and intranet content, and capability materials, while managing directory submissions and relationships with key legal publications.

 

The Associate Director leads profile-raising efforts, including sponsorships, conferences, thought leadership, and media engagement, and sets strategy for client events and campaigns in collaboration with internal teams. Budget oversight, ROI analysis, and development of business cases for business development investments are essential components.

 

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and significant business development or marketing experience in professional services. The successful candidate demonstrates strong leadership, strategic judgment, project management capability, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities across a matrixed, cross-cultural environment. Frequent travel required.

 

Hybrid schedule: three days

Salary range: $220-$280,000
