The Business Development Manager will support the Corporate Practice Group by developing and executing business development and marketing initiatives that drive growth, enhance client relationships, and elevate the practice's market profile. This hands-on role partners closely with practice leadership to create strategic business development plans, identify cross-selling opportunities, support key client relationships, and develop pitches, proposals, presentations, and marketing materials. Responsibilities include client and market research, maintaining CRM data, coordinating client alerts, tracking business development activity, supporting lateral integration efforts, and collaborating with colleagues across regions to ensure a coordinated global approach.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree and at least seven years of law firm business development or marketing experience, including significant interaction with partners. Corporate practice experience is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial awareness, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, proven experience influencing senior stakeholders, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position may supervise junior team members and requires a proactive, collaborative, and client-focused approach.

Chicago: $139,000 - $159,000
