This is a Business Development Senior Specialist role supporting the firm's North America Transactional Practice, with a focus on the Real Estate, Energy, and Projects sub-practices. The Senior Specialist will report to the Associate Director of the North America Transactional Practice and work closely with practice leadership, partners, and the broader North America and Global Business Development teams to implement business development strategy focused on client retention, growth, cross-selling, and market positioning. The position can be based in New York, Chicago, Palo Alto, or San Francisco.
Responsibilities span pitches, proposals and RFPs; client and industry research; identification of new business and cross-selling opportunities; collection and management of deal experience; directory submissions, including Chambers and Legal 500; and development of marketing collateral, website content, lawyer biographies, rankings and awards materials. The role will also support client relationship management, strategic targeting, thought leadership and profile-raising initiatives, sponsorships, conferences, webinars and other major events, as well as practice group budget and administrative needs.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, and brings strong business development or marketing experience, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong project management and organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and build credibility with stakeholders at all levels are essential. The candidate should be self-motivated and comfortable working independently, with strong technology skills across Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and similar platforms.
