This is a Business Development Senior Specialist role supporting the firm's North America Transactional Practice, with a particular focus on M&A and the Health & Life Sciences sector. Based in New York, the Senior Specialist will work closely with the Transactional Business Development team and practice leadership to execute business development strategy focused on client growth, retention, cross-selling, and market positioning. The role will report into the Transactional BD leadership team, with the Senior Manager overseeing day-to-day projects and serving as the first step in the interview process. 

Responsibilities span pitches, proposals and RFPs; client and industry research; strategic targeting and client relationship management; identification of new business and cross-selling opportunities; transactional deal and experience tracking; directory submissions; and development of marketing collateral and profile-raising initiatives. The position also has a meaningful events component, supporting approximately three major conferences annually along with several smaller events, including programs in New York, but the team is specifically seeking someone who brings broader business development capabilities beyond event execution. 

The ideal candidate brings strong transactional business development experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment, with M&A experience particularly relevant. Exposure to Health & Life Sciences is preferred but not required. A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field is preferred, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong project management and organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while building credibility with partners and stakeholders. New York is the priority location for the search, although other locations may be considered if needed. While currently structured as a Senior Specialist position, there may also be flexibility to consider the role at the Assistant Manager level depending on the candidate's experience.
