Celeritas is partnering with a leading global law firm with a sophisticated international litigation and disputes practice to hire an accomplished ediscovery professional to serve as a Director for its New York office.

 

This is a highly visible, senior-level opportunity to join an established global eDiscovery function that sits at the intersection of complex litigation, investigations, technology, data, and innovation. The team works closely with lawyers and clients around the world, combining deep discovery expertise, advanced technology, and data-driven solutions to support significant and complex matters.

 

The successful candidate will play a broad leadership role across the firm's U.S. eDiscovery offering, advising partners and clients, developing sophisticated and defensible discovery workflows, evaluating emerging technologies, and helping shape how the firm uses AI and advanced eDiscovery technology to deliver better outcomes. This is an opportunity for an experienced eDiscovery professional who wants to operate as a trusted adviser and subject-matter expert. 

The Opportunity:

The Director will provide senior-level technical and strategic guidance to the firm's disputes practices and other teams across the organization. The position has a wide remit spanning client engagement, technology, workflow design, innovation, education, thought leadership, and business development.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Building trusted relationships with partners, lawyers and clients and helping drive the firm's eDiscovery offering.

  • Providing expert guidance on eDiscovery technology, including the application of generative AI to data culling, document review, and identification of key information.

  • Designing efficient, defensible workflows for litigation, investigations, cyber matters and other data-intensive engagements.

  • Advising on the scope and methodology of data collections, including the appropriate use of third-party forensic providers.

  • Evaluating, testing and implementing emerging technologies.

  • Developing and delivering engaging eDiscovery education for lawyers and professionals across the firm's global network.

  • Creating presentations, documentation and thought leadership supporting internal and external marketing initiatives.

  • Developing and sharing best practices across the global eDiscovery team.

  • Identifying and proactively addressing business and operational risk.

What We're Looking For:

This position requires a seasoned eDiscovery professional with the technical depth, commercial judgment, and executive presence to advise sophisticated lawyers and clients on complex discovery challenges. 

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • 20+ years of eDiscovery experience gained within a law firm and/or comparable legal services or professional services environment.

  • Strong client relationship management skills and a highly service-oriented approach.

  • Deep technical and advisory experience with Relativity.

  • Deep knowledge of forensic data collection tools, techniques, and methodologies.

  • Strong understanding of the technology platforms and data sources commonly encountered in modern discovery.

  • JD is highly preferred.
