Our client, a leading Am Law 100 firm, seeks a highly skilled, forward thinking Innovation Attorney to help modernize legal practice and accelerate the firm’s adoption of emerging technologies. This role sits at the center of the firm’s Information Technology and Data Services practice and serves as a critical conduit between practicing lawyers, clients, and technical teams. The Innovation Attorney will shape how advanced tools, including generative AI, are evaluated, deployed, and integrated into litigation and transactional workflows, ensuring the firm’s technology platform is fully leveraged to support exceptional client service.
This is an opportunity to influence firmwide strategy, guide practice level technology adoption, and serve as a trusted advisor to attorneys navigating the rapidly evolving landscape of legal innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the strategic bridge between attorneys, clients, and the Technology Department, ensuring tools and systems meet practice needs.
- Monitor and analyze advancements in generative AI and emerging technologies, advising leadership and identifying integration opportunities.
- Evaluate, pilot, and test new technologies, including drafting specifications and supporting proof of concept initiatives.
- Recommend and guide the strategic deployment of technology, including processes, policies, and software that enhance attorney and client service.
- Collaborate with practice group leadership and KM teams to understand practice specific needs and embed technology into workflows
Qualifications:
- Four (4)+ years of experience practicing in Big Law or driving innovation within a legal operations function.
- Demonstrated passion for legal technology, emerging tools, and AI enabled practice transformation.
- Strong understanding of product development and management, including user personas, user stories, scoping, requirements documentation, roadmap planning, UI/UX concepts, and user testing.
- Knowledge of LegalTech product categories and experience working in or alongside technology focused roles.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively across practice groups and technical teams in a service oriented environment.
Required Credentials:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA accredited law school.
- Admission to a relevant U.S. state bar.
