A leading AmLaw 50 law firm is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth for its high-profile energy and strategic M&A practices. This role serves as the primary BD and marketing strategist, partnering closely with partners to identify and convert revenue opportunities, craft winning pitches and RFPs, and position the firm as the go-to advisor in energy, infrastructure, and M&A transactions.Location: Raleigh, Washington DC, Baltimore, Charlotte, Houston, or Richmond (hybrid remote option available).

Reports to: Director of Business Development.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Serve as dedicated BD liaison for energy and strategic M&A practices. Develop and execute practice-specific business plans and growth initiatives. Lead client targeting, pitches/RFPs, cross-selling, and account management. Manage thought leadership, events, marketing collateral, and visibility efforts. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and ROI tracking. Collaborate firmwide and mentor junior team members.

 

Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s degree (marketing, communications, or business preferred). 5+ years of legal marketing/business development experience, including pitches and RFPs. Knowledge of energy, infrastructure, M&A, or regulatory sectors strongly preferred. Superior project management, communication, and strategic thinking skills. Proficiency with CRM systems (InterAction a plus).

Charlotte, Houston, Richmond:  $99,000-$152,000

Baltimore, DC:  $109,000-$167,000
